Riding The Desert - Edwards AFB, Ca
I haven't done much in terms of shooting. I have done a lot of biking. In fact, I'm probably riding as much as I did in the late nineties before I rediscovered photography. Doing all this riding seems to have affected how much shooting I do. After shooting so long and still considering myself a photography, this is a bit of a problem.
The problem is, "how do I continue to shoot even though I ride all the time?" Well, how about merging the two--shoot while riding. That's what I've done here.
I just bought a new camera that has GPS info and connection to other sensors like my heart rate monitor. What you see here is my first ride with this gizmo. It happens to be after work out the west side of the housing area on Edwards AFB.
As you can see, there's a hole lot of "not much" out there. But, it has great terrain and if you get past the wind and heat, it's wonderful riding.
On this day, the winds were blowing--not howling, mind you--up to about 20 mph. The temps were up to about 100 deg. Was I prepared for this? Nope, not if you look at what lunch tasted like during this ride.
Seems I've relearned that pizza and working out do not mix. In fact, pizza might put you in the hole meaning you are probably better off eating nothing for lunch instead of having a few slices of pizza like I did.
Fortunately, the "re-taste" wasn't too terrible. I was definitely happy to be done after riding for just over an hour.
The video might take a while to load. Just be patient.
Cheers
