Backyard Sunset - Edwards, CA
I've said this before. The best camera you can have is the one that's in your pocket. I didn't coin this term but I sure am a believer. The best camera is not the awesome camera you might have back in your photo locker at home. It's not doing any good there when you're miles away in your friend's backyard when an epic California sunset is in the making. That's this situation exactly.
I stopped for dinner at a friend's house when we were lounging in the backyard. The sun just set over "D" mountain when Lars pulled out his phone to get the image. I thought how awesome he looked taking his pictures.
The moment passed quickly. The sun set. Lars moved. I never could duplicate again if I tried with my good camera, even if I had it. No, the best and only way to shoot this was with my phone, my best camera.
