File # 1311493 - Yellowstone, National Park, Wyoming
This particular afternoon I decided to scout out the Lamar Valley towards the eastern part of the park. As I learned after my first evening in the park, I made a conscious choice not to expect anything let alone something epic.
As I rode just into the valley, I stopped at a trailhead parking area populated with many other vehicles. Another photographer was getting his gear out. I approached (still wearing my helmet and bike gear) "what's everyone here shooting?" He said, "there's a red fox den just over there" as he pointed up the hill a ways. I didn't see anything though was intrigued.
Having looked and noticed the phalanx of photographers. None of them were looking through glass and seemed to be just standing around, nothing going on. Hmmm. I queried the other photographer. He didn't seen to know what was going on. Though he did indicate "I have nothing else to do." Which prompted me to agree and decide to pull my own gear out.
